Self-Compassion Practice

Hands-On Example: Ask participants to recall a recent challenging situation at work. In pairs or individually, have them write down how they responded internally to that challenge. Then, introduce the concept of self-compassion. Guide them to reevaluate their reactions with kindness and understanding, emphasizing that mistakes and setbacks are a normal part of work life.

Tips:

  • Encourage participants to use positive affirmations or comforting language when reflecting on their experiences.

  • Discuss as a group how adopting a self-compassionate mindset can positively impact mental well-being and resilience.

Self-compassion involves treating oneself with kindness and understanding, especially during challenging situations. They should recognize that mistakes and setbacks are normal and not a reflection of their worth. To improve self-compassion, encourage them to:
