Experiencing God
Introductory article to the book, Experiencing God: Knowing Abba Father
Somehow humanity has disconnected from our Creator. He is a real, and loving, living Heavenly Father. When He made Adam & Eve His purpose was fellowship. We disobeyed. We disconnected. Jesus restored the opportunity for relationship, salvation, & health; connecting us back to Him. Jesus is the Way. Our only hope is in Him. As Christians when we disobey and sin, our relationship and connection to Him is affected. Grace abounds for constant restoration as we walk the path of communing with Him on a daily basis.

Jesus came to reveal our Heavenly Father to us. He spoke a lot about God being our Father in the 4 Gospels. When we learn to relate to God as our Father, our perspective & experience of Him changes. Letting go of our past misconceptions of God is key to knowing and experiencing His presence. If something bad is happening in our life, it’s important to thought stop anything that is contrary to His Word. He didn’t cause it. He wants us to be in health. He wants the best for our lives. Just like an earthly father wants good for his children, so does our Heavenly Father. Ask anyone in the grocery store today, “what do you want for your children?” Most will answer, “why happiness.” God cares about us and wants us to be happy, and He wants us to know and experience Him daily as we walk this resilient pathway.
Today we are reminded that God is our Father, and He cares about everything we are facing. Let’s allow Him into our lives. He so longs for us to commune, or communicate with Him. He wants us to know Him and His unconditional Love for us through His Word, The Bible. Let’s remind one another of His constant care for us. We are His!
No one can separate us from His Love. This resurrection life you received from God is not a timid, grave life. It’s adventurously expectant, greeting God with a childlike “What’s next, Papa?” God’s Spirit touches our spirits and confirms who we really are. We know who He is, and we know who we are: Father and children. And we know we are going to get what’s coming to us—an unbelievable inheritance! We go through exactly what Christ goes through. If we go through the hard times with Him, then we’re certainly going to go through the good times with Him!
~Romans 8:15
We are continually learning about the brain. What God has made is wonderful. He created us in three parts that operate as one: spirit, soul, and body. The brain is part of our body, and we control our brain through our choices with thoughts. Fear and love are two opposing forces. We choose between the two on a daily basis. Either do it the way God says to do it; with love, or the way the world says to do it; which opposes Him, and is full of fear. We need Jesus, and to be all consumed with Him. We are designed to respond to God. If we don’t, then we harm ourselves. God has given us free will.
‘Meditate on my Word day and night, so you may observe to obey what is written in it.’
~Joshua 1:8
Choose to be led by the Spirit of God. Choose to be led by His Word. Those who are led by the Spirit of God are the Sons of God.
‘Bring all thoughts to the captivity of Christ.’
~2 Corinthians 10:5
Take time to discipline our mind. If we choose poorly, we end up in the jaws of the enemy. If we make better choices, we are in the embraces of His Presence. This is our choice to make daily!
‘…the rain did descend, and the streams came, and winds blew, and they beat on the house, and it fell not, for it had been founded on the rock…'
~Matthew 8:25
In this passage, Jesus is talking about building our house on a foundation that is strong like a rock. He likens this to obeying Scripture. He is telling us the storms of life will come and rattle us, and we will remain standing and intact because we have built our house on that rock.
